What stands out at first glance is the smooth, uncluttered look of the small checkered lady design feature – you won't see a manually operated external slide stop or take-down lever on the left or right side. At the top, the magazine is designed as a stack, with the cartridges stacked in 1½ rows, or preferably one on top of the other at a 30° flat angle. This P-10 M allows another cartridge, for example, the GLOCK 43 or the Walther PPS, to maintain the same height. Therefore the grip may only measure 0.86”/22mm at the top where the thumb and index finger make contact. The grip texture has plenty of grip on the sides and is nicely aggressive on the front and rear. The manufacturer designed the frame surfaces, which can primarily come into contact with the fabric, in a more fabric-friendly manner.
The trigger is similar in its characteristics to a dual-stage trigger, but breaks in at a relatively low 7.9 lb/3600 g. Called SFDA (Stryker Fire Double Action) by CZ, the trigger assembly is a partially pre-tensioned system that we know from GLOCK pistols. Here, part of the force is stored in the striker spring by the forward slide movement. The rest is transferred to the striker with the trigger finger on the trigger strap. Partial pre-tensioning is considered very safe by CZ so no firing pin safety is required.
The designation of "double action" on the P-10 M adds to the confusion, as it is not possible to operate the trigger as much as you would like, for example, in case of engine failure. In the USA, the primary market for such sub-compact pistols for everyday concealed carry is guns with pre-tension trigger systems, but are classified as double-action firearms by the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives). Thus, the manufacturer means the designation of the system.
We tested the subcompact concealed carry pistol with 5 types of factory ammunition with projectile weights ranging from 107 to 147 grains, three of which were purely defensive ammunition. One of them is the young GECO 107-grain Action Extreme with a lead-free hollow point bullet, a very interesting load.

Although the classification according to the obtained groups is certainly not the most important criterion here, we want to start with it. The best result at 15 meters was Spear Gold with 147 grains at 2.12”/54mm from two average 5-shot groups. Next came the S&B 124 grains FMJ from the 250 bulk pack, 2.48”/63mm. A 124-grain fully copper-plated lead bullet with the GECO cartridge achieved 2.48”/63mm. All loads average 2.59”/66 mm.
Most interesting is the superior performance of the 124-grain Sphere Gold Dot. The bullet produced an impressive 362 m/s from the 87 mm barrel, which is 526 joules. Spear's technicians did a great job with this small barrel load, thanks to a well-thought-out propellant choice. However, the P-10 M is a good choice, especially with this type of load. Thus it meets the fate of many subcompact pistols with short, narrow grips. Recoil is absorbed by the smaller surface in the hand and therefore feels more unpleasant. Since regular training with sub-compact guns is required to control the gun still and achieve clean hits under pressure, it is best to do a few test shots before purchasing. If the recoil is too stiff or the grip too short, while the appeal of these extreme hand pistols is sure, it's best to move on to the next larger version.
