Conceal Carry 45 - When a shooter or a new apprentice starts discussing my stealth, I give the best advice I can. One piece of advice is that you really need two guns - a big gun and a small gun - if you've been living in a real climate for four years. Even in warm Florida, you may need a small gun to carry under your shirt or in your pants along with a piece of the right size.
Another tip is that the shirt is a great replacement for most shots if done right. A large pistol can be carried hidden in a good holster with the right geometry. The grip should stabilize the weapon well and be properly calibrated to get a sharp image from the concealed grip.

It is important to have spare magazines with you. This is the Steel Will and Surefire Stiletto combat flashlight.

I also carry a good knife and a loaded shotgun. I carry a flashlight sometimes. I don't want things to be forgotten and discourage a beginner from weighing themselves under the belt, but it needs a little improvement. We carry all cell phones so we have a live line. A well-designed knife can be used as a tactical tool. I like to take a knife with broken glass, something that was LEO in my day, and use it to the rescue.
I no longer use a knife in tests. Most of the files are bad knife prices, but I like to take something big to use at a stopover. I have two serrated knives - not yours - and I respect a bladed tool but also its limitations. The Steel Will folder is a piece of paper that I usually carry around.
For weapons large and small, I have relied on the Colt Government Model .45 and the .38 muzzleloader for years. They're all good at their roles, but something in between works these days. I think .22, .25 and .32 are the most effective as a threat. Their effect, or lack thereof, on motivated criminals is well documented, and I don't do very well with the .380 ACP. The same applies to derringers.
Simple preparation requires the weapon to be ready for immediate action. If you don't like carrying a gun with a suitcase in the room, you need a gun. Although bottom reliability, altitude, handling and speed may be more important than absolute accuracy. The balance of power and portability is important.
Best Concealed Carry Revolvers [2021 Update]
The smallest and most powerful pistol I sometimes pack - and usually as a spare - is the Ruger LCP II .380 ACP. Though lightweight, this pistol has good sights, a good trigger and solid reliability. It's surprisingly accurate. I load it with Federal's 99-grain HST and hope for the best. It's nice not having hands.
A big step up over the snub nose of the .38 Special. The 442 and Ahrends grips are easier to hide while the 638 and Pachmayr grips are easier to shoot. The Blackhawk Pocket Vest is very helpful in such cases. The gun can be stuck in an enemy's body and fired multiple times. It will continue to burn if the person does not do it himself.
The author believes that it is good to have modern rifles with a polymer frame. Rex Delta, the bottom line, is a new introduction with great performance.
I don't remember ever shooting one of these, it's not the best program, but I've been shooting guns all my life. These guns are chambered in Federal 129-grain Hydra-Shok +P. These are my backup guns that I usually carry. 638 will get the head for the first ride.

Colt himself classified three sizes of pistols - pocket, belt and clip - and created pistols of the appropriate size. I think that's a very good explanation. Slight improvements in weight and size result in better rifles that are easier to use and more powerful than shotguns.
Glock 43 is one option. For more serious damage, the Springfield XD-Sin .40 S&W is a powerful and reliable pistol. It's a kick - no sugar - but manageable for those who practice. I load it with Hornady Critical Defense and enjoy good performance and accuracy. I'd rather carry that gun than half the guns that go to class with a concealed carry permit.
An excellent lightweight pistol that I carry regularly is the Bond Arms Bullpup 9. It is a unique design that offers eight 9mm rounds in a compact case due to its unusual design, rear-feed magazine and bullpup design.
The next step up is the gun portion size. This leads to increased performance, reliability and service life. The Glock 19 9mm is a staple in this category. If you don't earn enough, remember to cut corners. If you pay more, make sure you get your money's worth.
Popular Micro Nines For Concealed Carry
The smaller Rex Delta 9mm is one option, the smaller SIG P229 is the other. Glock 45 9mm or Glock 19X offer better grip and better impact resistance. Pair them with the Federal HST or Hornady XTP and you have a great rifle that offers great rebound and durability.
Probably as big a gun as most shooters are able to carry. These pistols are fun to use and shoot, very accurate and easy to control with a good supply of ammunition.
When carrying these guns, I always carry a folding knife and sometimes a tactical pen. Shooting is not the only way, it is the last and there should be other options. As for the case, I use both leather and kydex. The Werkz holster provides good balance and represents good design.
Larger firearms and ammunition are hidden more than half of the time. Speed, strength and precision are essential.

My threat profile includes big cats and rabid dogs, not to mention a current psychopath on the loose (a recent incident involved an old man and hikers killed and two injured on the Appalachian Trail), so I want to be well armed with the weapons I've practiced. Larger guns are invited to practice.
With a 1911 Dan Wesson Heritage or Les Baer worn in an N3 Galco holster inside the belt, I am well armed with a gun. I find the flat and fast 1911s to be more comfortable and balanced than the SIG P229/Glock 19X class, and this is a product of experience. Sometimes I hide the SIG 1911 Nightmare Carry Fastback. It's not a compromise in many respects, as the track is powerful and accurate - but it's more powerful than the government model.
I also install guns, for most of the reasons listed in the section on snub-nosed .38 caliber revolvers. Animal attacks usually involve electrocution, and the animal grabs the victim by the neck or head. The survivors poured a pistol over the animal's body and fired several times.
The .357 Magnum Revolver isn't too heavy to carry around on a regular basis, but it packs a lot of power. For personal defense, the revolver is not obsolete. I usually carry a Model 13 Smith and Wesson or Wiley Clapp GP100 in .357 Magnum. I have a range of Lobo Gunleather products that allow you to use and improve the car.
