Either way, a very long standing ovation should be a great indication of how awesome, breathtaking, hot-damn-this-guy-QT-done-did-it-again-fire this movie is. The idea of people clapping at a concert for longer than 75 seconds is completely silly when it comes from the news. But when we get to see people clapping five times longer, it's obvious how bloody awkward and bizarre it is. It's so unusual it borders on self-parody. It's something you'd expect in a Quentin Tarantino film mocking Hollywood. But it gets even weirder thanks to this freelance cameraman who is determined to make the experience as uncomfortable as possible for QT and his cast. Whoever this cameraman is, give him the Palme d'Or for Trolls while he still has a job; it's art. And art calls for introspection. She might agree that it's odd that she's not heavily involved, or that she doesn't have an opinion on Tarantino's portrayal of Sharon Tate's murder, and this standing ovation is too much and too long for her to agree. Or there's a total creep who shoves a giant lens in her face with no regard for her personal space and runs out of patience.
